What is non-dielectric?

anelectrolyte

anelectrolyte

A compound that does not conduct electricity in the molten state or in aqueous solution. This concept is relative to electrolyte. Non-electrolyte is a compound bound by classical valence bonds, which does not undergo ionization reaction in aqueous solution. Except carboxylic acids and their salts, phenols and amines, most organic compounds are non-electrolytes, such as sugar, glycerol and ethanol. Among inorganic compounds, only some nonmetallic halides are non-electrolytes.
