Code for installation of grounding wire of welding machine

1, all welding machines must use qualified grounding wires.

2. The grounding wire of electric welding machine adopts insulated copper wire with a cross section of not less than 25mm2.

3. There shall be no rust or dirt on the connecting part of the grounding wire. Bolts and nuts must be fully tightened. Spring washers should be used to prevent the workplace from loosening due to vibration.

4. Grounding wires are not allowed to be connected to flammable, explosive and heat-generating objects, nor to the metal structures and tracks of pipelines, mechanical equipment and buildings.

Technical standard for fabrication and installation of grounding wire

1. One end of the grounding wire of the welding machine 1 used in a fixed place is connected to the grounding bolt of the welding machine shell, and the other end is connected to the grounding bus. When the welding machine is not installed with a grounding bus, the grounding wire can also be connected to the grounding terminal of the independent grounding system.

2. Regularly check the fastening of each connecting part of the grounding device, and regularly test the electrical performance of the grounding system, and the grounding resistance value shall not be greater than 2Ω.

3 When multiple electric welding machines are used in the same workplace, the grounding wire of each electric welding machine must be connected in parallel to the grounding bus or an independent grounding terminal, and it is forbidden to connect in series.

4 The installation of grounding wire must have enough safe distance from the nearby lightning protection grounding network to prevent lightning strike back or lightning induction from causing harm to welding machine or personnel.

2. Electric welding machines used in non-fixed places

1 The welding machine used in non-fixed places must adopt the grounding terminal of independent grounding system, and the grounding terminal is connected with the grounding wire, which is firm and corrosion-free.

2 The grounding terminal must be installed in a place with good conductivity, and the grounding resistance of the grounding system must be detected before the welding machine is used.

When the electric welding machine is used underground, the grounding wire should be installed in a damp place such as ditches, and it is strictly prohibited to connect it to the track and pipeline.
