As the mausoleum of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the father of the Republic of China, it is considered as a sacred place for China people at home and abroad. With profound historical significance, magnificent architecture and beautiful scenery, it is a must-see place for traveling in Nanjing. Dr. Sun Yat-sen (1866- 1925) was a great pioneer of China's democratic revolution. Under his leadership, the people of China overthrew the corrupt Qing Dynasty, ended the feudal monarchy for two thousand years, and brought the people of China into a new era.

XuanWu Park

One of the most pleasant and scenic places in Nanjing is the large Xuanwu Lake Park. It is located in the northwest of the city center, next to a main shopping street. The panoramic view of modern Nanjing and its beautiful natural environment surround the vast and calm water. Most of the park is covered by a big lake, which is dotted with a group of medium-sized islands connected by tree-lined causeways and bridges. On one side is the green forest slope of Purple Mountain, while the bright yellow walls and the tower of a Buddhist temple stand on a hill on the south bank. Huge Ming Dynasty city walls surround the banks of the lake, while modern office buildings and apartments are shining in the background. These islands themselves are a mixture of small forests, gardens, pavilions and grasslands, and occasionally restaurants or teahouses. Walking in the park is a kind of relaxation after sightseeing, and it is also a unique combination of many aspects in modern Jiangsu.
