Introduction of Chongfu Temple in Fuzhou

Chongfu Temple is located at the south foot of Elephant Peak in Beiling, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, about 8 kilometers away from Fuzhou City. The temple was founded in the second year of Taiping Xingguo in the Northern Song Dynasty (977), formerly known as "Chongfuyuan". The building was small in scale and was later abandoned. 1in the spring of 983, the female class of Fujian Buddhist College was located in the temple. Today, Chongfu Temple is a Zhong Ni Dojo, covering an area of 38 16 square meters. There are 18 halls, such as Tianwang Hall, Mahayana Hall, Dharma Hall, Tangqi Hall, Dizang Hall and THE TEMPLE OF JIALAN Hall. It is an important place for Buddhist activities in Fujian Province.
