Comparison of navigation conditions between Arctic waterway and traditional waterway
The Northeast Passage of Arctic Channel is the shortest route connecting Northern Europe, Eastern Europe and West Port to East Asia. Compared with the traditional routes such as Malacca Strait and Suez Canal, it can shorten the voyage by one third, and is called the "golden waterway" connecting Asia and Europe by the maritime community.
Although the Arctic Northeast Passage shortens the distance between East Asia and Europe in time, its special geographical location and extremely cold weather still deter many ships planning to pass through this water area. In addition, due to the lack of accurate and reliable navigation information in this water area, ships sailing in the northeast channel of the Arctic will face great challenges.
"There are still a lot of ice floes and icebergs in this channel, and the navigation information is relatively lacking, so the navigation of the ship faces great risks."
