The Three Realms of Human Words
"Those who have achieved great endeavors and great knowledge in ancient and modern times must pass through three realms, 'Last night the west wind withered the blue trees. I went up to the tallest building and looked at the end of the road.' This is the first realm.
'The belt is gradually widening, for the consuming people pine.' This is the second state.
'I've been looking for him for a thousand years, but when I look back, I see that he is at the end of the lights.' This is the third state."
This is what Wang Guowei said in "Words on Earth", with the help of the words of Yan Shu, Liu Yong, and Xin Qiji in the Northern Song Dynasty, that if you want to achieve great things in life, you have to go through the "three realms".
These three realms, that is to say, we have to go through three stages in the pursuit of ideals, the first stage, there should be a lofty goal, the second stage should have a tough will, perseverance and determination, the third stage shows the highest realm of realization of ideals.
The three great wordsmiths, Yanshu, Liu Yong, and Xin Qiji, never dreamed that one person would later magically link their words and phrases together and, moreover, become inspirational quotes.
These three words are from three different generations of wordsmiths, the intention of these three words is not Wang Guowei to express the "realm of life"? We might as well know about these three writers first!
The first realm? I went up to the west tower alone, looking at the end of the road
This word is written by Yanshu, "Butterfly Lovers", the original text: "Threshold chrysanthemums worried about the smoke and orchids weeping dew. The canopy is cold, and the swallows have flown away. The bright moon is not familiar with the bitterness of separation and hatred, and the slanting light penetrates the vermilion house at dawn. Last night, the west wind withered the blue trees. I went up to the west tower alone and looked at the end of the world. I want to send a colorful paper and a ruler, but I don't know where the mountains are long and the waters are wide."
From this line, "The moon is not familiar with the pain of separation and hatred, and the slanting light penetrates through the vermilion house at dawn," we can read that the theme that the author wants to express is "separation and hatred," and the upper part of the section writes about the sleepless night that he had experienced.
The next section is from the indoor to the outdoor, he found that last night scraped a night of autumn wind, so that all the leaves on the trees blew down, "alone on the west tower, looking all the way to the end of the world," he climbed a tall building, before I could not see the end of the world because of the tree branches and leaves, blocked the line of sight, and now the leaves scraped, the line of sight stretched, so I could see the far end of the world, and I could see the far end of the world, I could see the far end of the world. Later, when Zhang Xian knew about this, he specially wrote a lyric "Bi Peony" "Looking over the Blue Bridge, but the twilight clouds are a thousand miles away, a few mountains, a few waters." Zhang Xian's talent has to be admired. Instead of writing about how Yan Shu misses his concubine, he writes about how the concubine, after being sold, can't forget Yan Shu, even with a sense of resentment.
Yan Shu listened to this, and was really in tears. His lover was far away, and whenever he remembered the bits and pieces of the time we had spent together, all kinds of sadness would come to his mind. "Alone on a tall building, looking at the end of the road," in that one miserable and difficult days, only the thoughts of the lover, into eternal poetry, in order to be in the depression of the wind and rain, constantly licking wounds, soothe that lonely and helpless weak heart.
"Looking at the Blue Bridge, but the twilight clouds of a thousand miles", I did not expect Zhang Xian's words, so Yanshu could not help but weep, and therefore wrote out this ancient famous song.

Xin Qiji in the history of literature, is a heroic figure, he is not only a literary hero, but also a hero. Since Xin grew up in the north under the rule of the Jin Dynasty, he was also less exposed to the traditional cultural education that made people conform to rules and regulations, and in him, there was a kind of chivalrous spirit of the Yanzhao warriors.
In the thirty-first year of Shaoxing, at the age of twenty-two, Xin Qiji also gathered 2,000 men to join a powerful insurrectionary army led by Geng Jing, and served as secretary in charge. On his way back from his mission, he heard the news that Geng Jing had been killed by the traitor Zhang Anguo and that the rebel army had been routed, so he led more than fifty men to attack the enemy camp, captured the traitor and brought him back to Jiankang, where he was handed over to the Southern Song court for execution.
Xin Qiji's amazing bravery and decisiveness made him famous for a while, with "a strong and heroic voice, for which the cowards rose, and the Holy Prince of Heaven sighed three times at the sight of him". He was appointed by Emperor Gaozong of the Song Dynasty to be the judge of Jiangyin, and began his career in the Southern Song Dynasty, when he was only twenty-three years old.
In the first period of his service in the Southern Song Dynasty, he wrote a lot of enthusiastic suggestions about the northern expedition against the Jin Dynasty, such as the famous "Ten Essays on Beauty and Celery" and "Nine Discussions", etc. Although these proposals were well received by the people at that time, they were not accepted by the people at all. Although these proposals were highly praised and widely recited at the time, the court, which was no longer willing to fight, was lukewarm, and was only interested in the practical talents shown in Xin Qiji's proposals, so he was sent to Jiangxi, Hubei and Hunan to serve as a transit ambassador, a kind of important local officials to govern the deserted government, and rectify the law and order.
This is obviously very different from the ideal of Xin Qiji, although he did a very good job, but because of the deep sense of time, life is short and ambition is difficult to fulfill, but more and more feel depressed and pain.
However, the reality was harsh on Xin Qiji. At the age of forty-two, Xin Qiji was removed from his post due to impeachment and returned to Shangrao. During the next twenty years, he spent most of his time in the countryside, except for two years when he served as a governor of Fujian and as an ambassador for peace.
As a hot-blooded man, a man of the world, in the very promising prime years was forced to leave the political arena, which in turn made him unbearable.
So, he often enjoys the landscape and the quiet interest, and the deepest part of his heart and constantly surging waves, sometimes for the ideal of a lifetime of excitement, sometimes due to the reality of the ruthless and angry and discouraged.
At the age of sixty-four, Xin Qiji was appointed governor of Shaoxing and ambassador of eastern Zhejiang, and the spirit of the aged poet was revitalized.
But he was once again dealt a severe blow, and was forced to leave his post under attack from some of his advisers, returning to his home in the first year of his reign. Although he was summoned to serve for the next two years, he was so sickly and frail that he died in the fall of the third year of the Kaixi era.
Xin Qiji's life is a life of tragedy, which is also cast his life of literary splendor.
