What kinds of folk woodcuts are there in China?

According to the practical application and formal characteristics, we preliminarily divide folk woodcuts into twelve categories.

(1) Facade, including door keeper, chief, deputy door keeper, gate judge, etc. ;

(2) New Year pictures, including nave, axis, screen bar, horizontal bar, grid view, bucket square, moonlight, window top, window side, kang wai and other pictures;

(3) Window grilles, including colored window paintings and paper-cut prints. ;

(4) Lantern painting, including lantern painting, lantern painting, lantern riddle painting, etc.

(5) Banner paintings, including color-printed doorplates, Chongyang Banner, dust-removing paper and table paintings. ;

(6) Statues of gods, including statues often offered, ritual statues, tablets of gods, axes of ancestors, etc. ;

(7) Paper horses, including vests, paper money, paper money, etc. ;

(eight) illustrations, including the title page, the novel Xiu Xiang, the whole novel, technical images, physical images, topographic maps, etc. ;

(9) Sticking, including printed parts of funerary objects, capsules of funerary objects, printed kites, wallpaper, stationery, edge paper, etc.

(10) Imprints, including store seals, imitations, labels, commodity packaging, etc. ;

(eleven) Bo opera, including leaves, wine cards, horse cards, cards, color boxes, etc. ;

(12) Others, including printed embroidery, printed fan, cold-dispelling painting, printed toys, dragons and phoenixes, coins, etc.

The above twelve categories, more than 50 species, are only roughly divided. By the way, the "folk woodcut" referred to here is a picture printed in watercolor through woodcut engraving, so it is not purely printed in words. And the picture is not entirely a plot painting. In the classification of art, whether ancient or folk, it is not as distinct as painting, pattern and decoration today. In other words, in actual works, they are often intertwined.
