Is finance a low-tech major?

Traditional financial industries include: banks, brokers, funds and insurance. Internet financial platform, a top-down financial operation mode, has little demand for front-line employees who directly face investors, so I won't discuss it here.

Each position in the industry will have different thresholds, and the entry threshold is not high. When you are in college, whether your major is astronomy or geography, foreign languages or literature, it is easier to get in as long as you have passed the relevant professional qualifications, but don't think that you will have high-paying positions, mostly starting from front-line employees. As for whether finance is a low-tech job, it depends on the specific job division of the company.

Low-tech positions: counter staff, customer service staff, lobby manager, financial manager, sales staff, administrative, human resources and other backstage staff.

These positions belong to front-line employees in the industry. As long as they have a little learning ability, understand some basic financial knowledge, and then carry out relevant on-the-job training, they are basically competent, so the technical content is really not high. These people are called "financial migrant workers" on the Internet, and their salaries are related to sales.

High-tech positions: accounting, planned finance, information technology, analyst, investment bank, derivative research and development, product design, financial engineering, actuary, etc.

These technical posts require strict academic qualifications, prestigious schools and professional counterparts as far as possible. You should be familiar with the formulas of financial products and related derivatives, and you can follow various financial engineering, hedging models and arbitrage strategies. Most of the financial giants whose annual salary exceeds 1 10,000 yuan graduated from top schools in China. In the face of a company, they can point out the problems of the company's financial statements and come up with a merger and reorganization plan.

No matter what position you are in, it is not a low-tech thing in itself to do your job well.
