What is the origin of Dragon Boat Festival?
In 278 BC, Qin Jun invaded Kyoto, Chu. Qu Yuan was heartbroken to see his motherland being invaded, but he was reluctant to give up his motherland. On May 5th, after he wrote his last poem "Huai Sha", he plunged into the Miluo River and wrote a magnificent patriotic movement with his own life.
The people of Chu were very sad after hearing the news. They rushed to the Miluo River to pay their respects to Qu Yuan. The fisherman paddled the boat and fished his body back and forth on the river. Some ordinary people took out rice balls, eggs and other foods prepared for Qu Yuan and threw them into the river "plop, plop", hoping to make ichthyosaurs, shrimps and crabs full, so as not to bite the doctor's body. Others followed suit. Later generations also regard the Dragon Boat Festival as a festival to commemorate Qu Yuan.
