History of China Bicycle Association

China Bicycle Association was founded in 1985, is the national organization of China's bicycle industry, is a non-profit social groups, societies and legal persons. It is a non-profit social organization and legal person. It is voluntarily formed by bicycle, electric bicycle and its parts and components production enterprises, as well as their related production, commerce and trade enterprises, scientific research, teaching units and local associations. The association is subject to the business guidance and management of the State-owned Assets Management Committee of the State Council, the China Light Industry Federation and the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the registration authority of the association. There are more than 500 group members, and the production and export volume of member enterprises accounts for about 75% of the total volume of the industry. China's annual production of bicycles has been maintained at more than 800,000 units, the annual output of electric bicycles in about 30 million units, about 60 million units of bicycles and electric bicycles exported to more than 170 countries in the world each year. The bicycle industry has made outstanding contributions to the national economy and social development.

Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, China's bicycle enterprises have grown from small to large. To the 80s of the last century, to the Phoenix, permanent, pigeon, red flag, five sheep and other domestic bicycle industry brand enterprises as a representative, the industry basically formed a complete vehicle and parts and components, supporting a complete production system; into the 90s, in the context of the deepening reform and opening up, China's bicycle industry to more actively utilize foreign investment, the introduction of advanced technology and scientific management methods, for the industry's development injected a new vitality. The industry has injected new vitality into its development. Gradually established the international status of bicycle production, consumption and export of large countries; since this century, the bicycle and electric bicycle industry has continued to develop rapidly, and the production technology and management level of the industry has reached or is close to the world's advanced level. Product variety, complete specifications, to meet the needs of the majority of domestic and foreign consumers at multiple levels, the industry has made historic development achievements.

The traditional old bicycle brands have not aged, are actively engaged in technological research and development and product innovation, as a way to promote the transformation of the development mode; bicycles, electric bicycles, rising stars continue to innovate, in the selection of materials, technology, design excellence, as a way to adapt to the ever-changing market changes in demand. China's bicycle industry, "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" blueprint has been depicted: the total economic volume will be steadily increased, industrial restructuring will be carried out in-depth, international influence will be greatly enhanced. We have every reason to believe that, under the guidance of the scientific concept of development, adhere to the transformation of the industry's development mode, accelerate structural adjustment and transformation and upgrading, through the reform of continuous self-improvement, through the opening up of continuous strengths and avoiding shortcomings, the industry's development will realize a new leap, the world's attention of the bicycle country will become a strong bicycle country.
