How to take the exam for a traditional Chinese medicine doctor’s license

To apply for a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner license, you must take the professional and technical proficiency examination organized by the Ministry of Health of China and complete the examination within six months.

Candidates need to pre-register online within the specified time and fill in relevant information, including ID number, academic qualifications, major, work experience, etc.

Secondly, candidates need to confirm on-site registration at the designated time and location and pay relevant examination fees.

Finally, candidates need to take the exam and receive a traditional Chinese medicine doctor's license after passing the exam.

Candidates taking the TCM Physician Qualification Examination are divided into three categories. One category is graduates of high school TCM schools with nationally recognized academic qualifications; the other category is nationally recognized personnel who study in a teacher-to-teacher manner; and the other category is foreigners who meet the registration requirements.

The Traditional Chinese Medicine Doctor Licensing Examination is a national examination organized by China's State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The examination content includes basic theory, TCM disease and syndrome diagnosis, TCM prescriptions, TCM acupuncture and other aspects.

Only doctors who have obtained a TCM doctor's license have the qualifications and abilities to engage in TCM clinical diagnosis and treatment and medical services, and can engage in relevant work in relevant hospitals, clinics and TCM institutions.
