Guzheng is an ancient musical instrument in China. Why can't you play on important occasions?
Guzheng is one of the traditional stringed instruments in China. Because it has many strings, it can show many scales when playing music. However, because of its huge body, it was inconvenient to carry, so in ancient times, only Fang Yue people would learn it.
Because guzheng first appeared as a weapon, it is very emotional to play a concert to express war with guzheng. What impressed me the most was House of Flying Daggers, which played a charming melody with clanking iron strings. A prelude can substitute people into the battlefield of thousands of troops and horses, which makes people excited.
So I don't think the guzheng can be used in formal occasions, because it is a weapon, and it is not appropriate to talk about war in formal occasions.
