This shows that consumers are already very interested in "hybrids that don't need charging".

Not long ago, BYD? s Qin PLUS Super Hybrid was unveiled, giving the industry a boost. BYD's DM-i Super Hybrid technology, which consists of a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine and an electric motor, and the Qin PLUS is the first model to carry it and will be available in 2021.
BYD started playing with DM dual-mode models, also known as plug-in hybrids, more than a decade ago, and the biggest highlight of the current DM-i Super Hybrid is this Snapdragon - Plug-in hybrid-specific 1.5L high-efficiency engine, which is officially said to have a thermal efficiency of 43%, an indicator that already exceeds the 41% of the self-absorbed engine in Toyota's hybrids. And on December 15, Great Wall Motors also made a breakthrough in hybrid, released the lemon hybrid DHT, the system architecture can be summarized as "1-2-3", that is, a set of DHT highly integrated oil-electric hybrid system, two kinds of power This forward-looking technological innovation will provide users with a full-speed range, full-scene, high-efficiency and high-performance vehicle scenarios in the future.
The new car based on the Lemon Hybrid DHT will use two hybrid engines, 1.5L and 1.5T, and will be matched with a fixed-axis transmission, GM/TM dual motors, dual motor controllers, and an integrated DC-DC chip. Based on this set of technology, Great Wall will build two power forms of HEV and PHEV, and the lowest 100-kilometer fuel consumption of A-grade SUV can be as low as 4.6L.
From the technical point of view, BYD and Great Wall have two highlights, one is the introduction of hybrid-specific engines, and the other is to make a play on the electric drive, an idea which is similar to that of Honda's i-MMD hybrid technology. From the official data given, both BYD and Great Wall, technical indicators are comparable to Toyota and Honda. Of course, there are no actual cars on the market yet, so the real strength remains to be seen, but it's well worth looking forward to.
Fuel car hybridization, imagination space is not worse than pure electricity
How much space is there for hybridization? You can refer to the situation in Europe. At present, from the sales situation in the last two months, Europe's new energy vehicle sales accounted for more than a quarter of the share, more than the share of diesel vehicles.
November, Europe's new energy vehicle sales ranked top seven countries, including Norway, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, new energy vehicle sales reached 128,500 units, an increase of 218%. Among them, Germany and France's new energy vehicle sales amounted to 59,600 and 18,600 units respectively, up 442% and 236% year-on-year.

Unlike the Chinese market, plug-in hybrid sales are still good in Europe. One is from economic considerations, plug-in hybrids can use electricity for short distances, and European countries are generally small enough to meet the vast majority of travel scenarios with electricity. At the same time the electric drive has an inherent advantage in performance, you can enjoy a higher driving pleasure at low cost, and electricity relative to oil in terms of saving money is also real. Another is policy-oriented, stringent emission standards, making it difficult for pure fuel vehicles to meet the standard. This is forcing companies to put more effort into hybrids in order to quickly launch models that comply with the policy, which is the most convenient transition program before the popularization of pure electric vehicles.
