What is Yunnan Qizi Cake Tea? A brief introduction to Yunnan Qizi Cake Tea

1. Qizi cake tea, also known as round tea, is a traditional famous tea produced by Menghai Tea Factory in Menghai County, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It is also a pressed tea.

2. It is made by processing and pressing tea leaves into round tea cakes with a beautiful appearance that resembles a full moon, and then packaging each 7 pieces of cake tea into 1 tubes, hence the name "Seven Son Cake Tea".

It uses Pu'er loose tea as raw material and is made through processes such as screening, sorting, high-temperature sterilization, and autoclaving.

The finished Qizi cake tea has strict specifications: 21 cm in diameter, slightly convex at the top, 2 cm thick in the center, slightly thinner at the edge, 1 cm, flat bottom with a small pit in the center.

Each cake weighs 357 grams. After being packaged in white tissue paper, every 7 pieces are packed into a tube with bamboo shoot leaves. It has an antique look and is suitable for carrying and long-term storage.

Exported tea cakes are also packaged in simple and elegant cartons, each box contains 1 piece.

3. In the past, Qizi cakes and tea were mostly used as betrothal gifts in ethnic minority areas and as gifts for relatives and friends during New Years and holidays. Qizi means having many children, grandchildren and wealth, and it also implies joy, reunion and good luck.
