State of the Art of Distribution Grid Automation

The power system consists of three parts: generation, transmission and distribution. The protection of the distribution chain concentrates on the protection of the feeder lines, and there is no stability problem in the distribution network, and it is generally recognized that the removal of feeder faults is not strictly required to be rapid. Different distribution networks have different requirements for load supply reliability and power quality. Many distribution networks only consider the impact of line faults on the sale of electricity and the impact of the life of the distribution equipment, has not yet been the negative impact of distribution network faults on the power load (user) as the purpose of distribution network protection.
