Difference between ultrasonic and lase ranging sensor

Ultrasonic sensors and laser ranging sensors have great differences in performance, and the differences are as follows:

1, accuracy: the measurement accuracy of ultrasonic sensor is centimeter level, and the measurement accuracy of sensor is millimeter level.

2. Measuring range: The measuring range of ultrasonic sensor is generally less than 80 meters, while that of hand-held laser ranging sensor can be as high as 200 meters, and that of laser ranging telescope is hundreds of kilometers or even more.

3. False alarm probability: Ultrasonic sensors are prone to false alarm, mainly because ultrasonic sensors emit sound waves with fan-shaped emission characteristics of sound waves. When there are many obstacles in the place where sound waves pass, there are many reflected sound waves and interference, which is easy to report errors. The laser ranging sensor is a particularly small laser beam emitted back, and there is almost no interference as long as the beam can pass.

4. Price: The price of ultrasonic sensors ranges from tens to hundreds, and the price of sensors ranges from hundreds to thousands to tens of thousands, which varies greatly according to the accuracy and distance.
