Types of photocatalytic reagents
Photocatalytic method is characterized by simple equipment, operation at normal temperature and pressure, rapid and thorough degradation of organic matter and no secondary pollution. Under normal temperature and pressure, the degradation rate of several dye wastewater below 100mg/l is 95- 100% after running for 20min minutes with low-pressure mercury lamp as light source. Ginseng pesticide residues containing 0.8 17mg/kg hexachlorobenzene and 0.91kloc-0/mg/kg pentachloronitrobenzene were degraded after 4 hours of operation, and the degradation rates were 93% and 97% respectively.
Photocatalysis can use sunlight as energy to activate photocatalyst and drive redox reaction, and photocatalyst is not consumed during the reaction.
Applications include industrial toxic solvents, chemical pesticides, wood preservatives, dyes and fuel oil. It is also used to treat inorganic pollutants.
