Introduction and writing method of couplets.

1. Couplets refer to couplets pasted or hung on doorframes or pavilions, also called couplets and couplets. China wrote couplets with a long history and extensive inheritance. According to legend, couplets originated from Meng Changjun, the master of Shu after the Five Dynasties. Couplets are the traditional cultural treasures of the Han nationality in China, and they have a broad mass base among the people. Writing couplets requires that the number of words in the upper and lower couplets is equal, the intonation of words is even and harmonious, and the font is neat, which is similar to China's poetry creation. Generally, we should pay attention to the content of up and down links. It is catchy to read, and the scene blends. For example, the first part: wealth, the second part: wealth, horizontal approval: all the best.

2. There is generally no word limit for couplets, which are divided into upper and lower couplets and horizontal batches. According to the number of words, there are four words, five words, seven words and twenty-one words. According to the object of chanting, it can be divided into Spring Festival couplets, wedding couplets, birthday couplets and elegiac couplets. Spring Festival couplets are couplets posted on the left and right sides of the door frame during the New Year. Jubilee couplets are couplets posted on the doorframes of homes and halls during the second trimester when children get married or hold banquets. Shoulian is a couplet for the birthday of the elderly, and elegiac couplet is a couplet for the memory of the elderly or heroes when they die. Generally, the upper part is attached to the right side of the door frame, the lower part is attached to the left side of the door frame, and the horizontal batch is attached to the center of the door frame.

Generally speaking, people have no strict requirements for writing couplets. But the most widely used font is regular script, followed by running script and official script. However, seal script fonts are relatively few, mainly because regular script fonts are easier to identify and more standardized and rigorous than other fonts. In the folk, generally speaking, four-character couplets and five-character couplets are written in regular script, seven-character couplets are written in regular script and lines, while thirteen-character couplets or twenty-one-character couplets with a large number of characters are written in official script, because more characters can be written on the same couplet paper with official script font. Therefore, it is generally better to write long couplets in official script.
