A Universe That's Always Expanding and Evolving We're committed to making Star Citizen a living, breathing, autonomous universe. There will always be new locations for players to explore. Miniaturized Upgrade Strategy We're not interested in big upgrades once a year or anything like that. Once the game is live, we'll have a dedicated team adding new content to the game on a weekly, or bi-weekly basis. We'll keep adding inputs, stories and missions, and make adjustments in response to player demand and dynamics. Squadron 42 - a Wing Commander type standalone mode that offers offline play Play offline or online and fight alongside your friends as you join the UEE fleet on a working tour, dispatching the front lines and protecting the colonies from Vanduul forces. The fight is always on If you excel in battle, you may be invited to join the legendary 42nd Squadron; similar to the French Foreign Legion, they are always on missions in the most dangerous zones, and no matter what, they always manage to come back in the nick of time. The Battle Never Ends At the end of your journey, you'll earn some credits and re-enter the ongoing (eternal or indestructible) Star Citizen universe, and your Citizenship can open the way for you. The player's actions affect the entire universe and become its history and lore.  The universe changes in response to player actions, and adventures can make them part of the universe's history. For example, players can scan for gravity anomalies in space. If the player finds one and successfully navigates to the mysterious jump point, they can sell a record of the flight path of the jump from their navigational computer to a space company at a high price for other users to download. But the real prize is having the galaxy or jump point named after them. Allowing User Generated Content (UGC, MODs) is a key design goal Our development toolkit allows players to design new ships for the ongoing RSI ship trading network or even custom ships and items for unofficial multiplayer modes. It's all about the gameplay experience and interaction with others We plan to add a lot of social elements to this universe. Since this universe is full of variables, this will create sectors or forces. Buy low, sell high you know (?). . The Price of Society Trade in the game's galaxy of civilizations Landing and having to pay trade tariffs in exchange for law and order. Want bigger profits? Try the Outlands - far beyond the infrastructure and protection of Earth. The downside is that there is no army or local police force to protect you from opportunistic pirate attacks. Money isn't everything You can be a merchant, miner or industrial magnate. Amass a great fortune or just complete enough missions for a comfortable life and ship upgrades. Space is empty but you're never alone If you're caught alone in an online ambush, send a distress signal to your friends and if they're nearby they can jump into the galaxy to rescue you. In each battle, player slots are reserved for your friends so you can rally forces to back you up in battle. Bigger ships offer richer multiplayer action If you have a bigger ship, your friends can join in to man the turrets, fix the systems, or pilot for you. Imagine the Millennium Falcon piloted by Han Solo with Luke in charge of the turret (- from Star Wars) Accurate simulation of all spaceships You want perfect Newtonian mechanics? This one has to have it! Spaceships can regulate orbit and direction just like in the real world. Intelligent Flight Control System Just like today's F-35s, these spaceships receive inputs from the player via in-line control, which is translated and sent to the engines and thrusters for the exact amount of propulsion needed to fulfill the player's requirements. Spaceship Dynamic Maneuverability The behavior of the spaceship is precisely calculated using a variety of physical variables, and the spaceship is able to send propulsion to a certain vector based on your needs. What does this mean? Countless combinations of component damage possibilities will have different effects on the ship's maneuverability - resulting in countless combat strategies and outcomes. Vital components of the airship!  Due to our complete simulation of physics and flight dynamics, various components will have their own different and important roles! If a hatch thruster breaks, there will be a systematic effect on the ship's maneuverability. If you upgrade the balance and propulsion of the thrusters it will result in different game play. Because the game has the ability to seamlessly scale, you can watch the battle from the bridge window or jump into the cockpit to fight the enemy directly.
