Oil refining is a rather complex physical and chemical process, and depending on the quality of the crude oil, the refinery equipment and the finished product, different processing schemes can be designed, so the intermediate products and intermediate forms are not a unique sequence.

Take the simplest atmospheric distillation - catalytic reforming process as an example:

Crude oil - > atmospheric distillation - > light gasoline + kerosene + light diesel + heavy diesel + atmospheric heavy oil

In which the light gasoline into the catalytic reforming, out of a portion of the hydrogen-rich gases, and the rest of the components of the aromatics extraction can be out of gasoline components and aromatic hydrocarbons. Here the gasoline component can be reprocessed to produce a finished grade of gasoline, while the aromatics are the raw material for the next chemical plant.
