Even the cheapest moon cakes cost fifteen or six yuan a catty. In addition to this low-end moon cake, the high-end moon cake with better packaging costs more than 100 per catty.

In the case that wages have not increased much, the high price of moon cakes now makes many people no longer afford to eat moon cakes, or reluctant to eat them. Even if you want to eat moon cakes in the Mid-Autumn Festival, you won't buy as many as before. Most of them just buy a few to taste, even if it is the Mid-Autumn Festival. Therefore, the price of mooncakes is a factor that affects people's eating mooncakes.

Moon cakes are no longer exclusive to Mid-Autumn Festival, but can be eaten in normal seasons.

In the past, moon cakes were only eaten in the Mid-Autumn Festival, but now they are no longer exclusive to the Mid-Autumn Festival. A few months before the Mid-Autumn Festival, merchants began to produce and sell moon cakes. It is precisely because we can eat mooncakes at ordinary times that mooncakes are no longer unusual, and people eat mooncakes less and less.
