What food do crickets eat?
Crickets living in the wild usually feed on buds, leaves and roots. Life habits of crickets
1. Crickets like to make holes, and often live on the ground, under bricks and stones, in soil holes and in grass. Rest during the day and go out at night. It is an omnivore, and all kinds of crops, saplings, vegetables and fruits can be its food. In agriculture, people regard crickets as pests.
2. Crickets are withdrawn by nature. Generally speaking, they live independently and are never allowed to live with other crickets. Only during breeding and mating does a male cricket live with another female cricket. Otherwise they are incompatible with each other. If we meet, we will not hesitate to fight. Therefore, there are cricket fighting activities among the people.
3. The reproduction and mating between crickets are not accomplished through mutual "love". It is an extremely fierce struggle between male crickets for the winner to have a spouse. In cricket, it is also polygamy. However, due to the breeding mode of survival of the fittest, most of the offspring bred by crickets are very healthy.
The chirping of crickets is no stranger to human beings. But loud chirping can only be made by male crickets, and female crickets have no ability to make sounds. Male crickets make different sounds by flapping their wings to represent what they want to express.
5. At the end of September every year, female crickets insert their oviposition tubes into the ground and lay eggs underground, about 0.5 cm deep from the ground. In May and June of the following year, the eggs began to hatch. After hatching, the 1 instar larvae shed their shells and become 2nd instar larvae in a few days. Every time a cricket molts, it grows a little. Usually in late August, the last molting, feathering into adults. 23 days after emergence, you can start singing.
