Guangdong Cantonese Opera Theatre: "Weekend Show" series of performances restarted

At the end of June, Guangdong Cantonese Opera Theatre, after a five-month hiatus, restarted the "Weekend Show" series of performances. three repertoires and six performances will be staged at the Guangdong Cantonese Opera Art Center in July. In July, three plays and six performances will be staged at the Guangdong Cantonese Opera Art Center, namely, the traditional drama "Huang Feihu Against the Five Guan" on July 10th and 11th, the new Cantonese opera "Bawu Huiguan" on July 17th and 18th, and the new Cantonese opera "Magpie Bridge Meeting" on July 24th and 25th, so that more long-awaited opera fans can come into the theater to enjoy the performances.

July 3-5, Guangzhou Cantonese Opera Troupe has already performed four big plays at the Southern Theater, including: Young Wenwu Sheng Chen Jianchao and Young Flower Girl Chen Yunling in the lead role of "Baolian Lamp"; Young Flower Girl Lin Ting, Young Wenwu Sheng Chen Jun_ and Young Flower Girl Mo Yanyun in the lead role of "Princess Snatching Her Marriage"; Guangzhou Cantonese Opera Troupe's many outstanding young performers have performed the "Folded Scenes Special Performance"; and the two famous Cantonese Opera performers, Plum Blossom Prize winner, and famous artists, have also performed in the "Folded Scenes Special Performance". Two famous Cantonese Opera artists, Plum Blossom Award winner Lai Junsheng and Chen Yunhong, lead the cast in the classic Cantonese Opera "Fan Li Offers Xi Shi".

July 23-26, Guangzhou Cantonese Opera Troupe will present a series of performances at the Jiangnan Grand Theater. Including: Wu Feifan, a young flower girl and Plum Blossom Prize winner, and Chen Jianchao and Chen Jun_, young literati and martial arts students, in The Legend of the White Snake; Chen Jianchao and Mo Yanyun, a young flower girl, in Zhou Ren's Sister-in-Law; Li Weicong, a young literati and martial arts student, and Chen Yunling, a young flower girl, in Three Angry Chows; and Lai Junsheng and Chen Yunhong, two renowned Cantonese opera singers and winners of the Plum Blossom Prize, in Dreams of Broken Fragrance for Forty Years.

July 27-29, Guangzhou Red Bean Cantonese Opera Troupe will also perform "Red Mane and Strong Horse", "The Strange Fate of the Flower Gun", and "Difficult Princess Dumping the Emperor's Son-in-law" at the Southern Theatre.

It is worth mentioning that in the evening of July 17th, Guangzhou Cantonese Opera Troupe and Guangzhou Red Bean Cantonese Opera Troupe will present a gala show of "Brilliant Pear Garden Shining in Lingnan" in Guangzhou Tower, where a number of famous Cantonese Opera artists will meet with opera fans.
