Traditional martial arts schools are divided into

Both inside and outside.

People's initial distinction between internal and external boxing was just a general classification, and future generations should not be too rigid in this regard.

Martial art should originally originate from the lower class people, and folk groups are the basis of its skills.

It was only later that monks and Taoist priests in temples and Taoist temples organized, developed, and innovated folk martial arts, making them more sophisticated and systematic.

In addition, the ancients also used the name boxing technique to be founded in a certain temple or Taoist temple to increase its mystery.

Therefore, we must not deny the role played by the people in the history of the development of martial arts in our country, nor should we despise some folk martial arts schools that are neither monks nor Taoists.

(2) Different characteristics 1. Innate force and acquired force: Innate force is also called original force, which is the force of local muscle contraction; acquired force is also called internal force, which is an overall force.

Waijiaquan uses innate strength to hit people, which is characterized by local muscle tension, and rarely knocks people away; Neijiaquan uses acquired strength to hit people, and is characterized by small local muscle force, which can easily knock the opponent away.

Therefore, whether one can send people to another is the most important criterion for distinguishing between internal and external boxing.

The higher your internal boxing skills are, the more you can hit your opponent with any part of your body in any state.

2. Preemptive strike vs. late strike: Preemptive strike is based on our subjective judgment and takes the lead, including using pre-skilled chain moves to attack the opponent. This is the characteristic of Waijiaquan.

Post-strike is to determine our moves and method of exerting force based on the opponent's moves and strength, judge the opponent through "hearing", and then use force to counterattack. This is the characteristic of Neijiaquan.

It should be pointed out that striking first does not mean always striking last. If this is the case, when you meet a domestic boxer, even if you yell at him, as long as he doesn't make a move, won't he be able to do anything to you? This is not the actual situation.

The so-called strike later does not mean to strike first and strike later based on appearance, but to strike first after hearing.

A domestic boxer can strike first. If you don't accept the move, it will be the real move. Once you accept the move, he will listen, change his strength, and exert his strength.

3. Different technical contents: Perhaps it is because Neijiaquan is developed from Waijiaquan. In Neijiaquan, many moves have their appearance from Waijiaquan, but in Waijiaquan there are few internal techniques.

.

This is because the essence of Neijiaquan is to generate internal force, and the boxing technique that can generate internal force is Neijiaquan.

4. Different body shapes: Most of the boxers who practice Waijiaquan have well-developed muscles and sharp edges. Especially when some boxers raise their chests and draw in their abdomens, their eight-pack abdominal muscles are like washboards, which is really toned (of course there are some with different body shapes).

However, if you look at the internal boxers, there are some with loose shoulders and some with chests covered. Even the best-fitted boxers have two obvious characteristics: First, the muscles on the arms are not angular when relaxed, as if there is a layer of water. This is

It is caused by frequent relaxation of local muscles; secondly, no matter how thin the internal boxer is, the abdomen is always protruding and it is difficult to see the abdominal muscles. This is caused by frequent qi sinking in the Dantian.

When a punch hits a foreign boxer's stomach, it will feel like hitting a steel plate, causing pain in the hand.

But when you hit a domestic boxer in the stomach, it's like hitting a ball and it will bounce you away.

In addition, the appearance of external boxing is often angular, like regular script; while the movement of internal boxing is like flowing clouds and flowing water, like running script or cursive script.

External boxing's requirements for the body shape are mostly to hold the chest up and down the waist, strong and quick; while internal boxing advocates holding the chest and waist, being soft and lingering.
