Explanation of fuel cell vehicle terminology
Fuel cell vehicle is an automobile that uses fuel cell as power source or main power source and uses electric energy generated by hydrogen oxidation to drive the vehicle. Compared with traditional cars, fuel cell electric vehicles are equipped with fuel cells and hydrogen tanks, and their electric energy comes from the combustion of hydrogen, so they only need to add hydrogen when working, without external supplementary electric energy.
Difference between Fuel Cell Vehicle and Pure Electric Vehicle
1, the principle is different
(1) The principle of pure electric vehicle is to store energy by battery and drive the vehicle by motor. The core part is battery, electric control and motor.
(2) Fuel cell vehicles use hydrogen as energy source, and the working principle is that hydrogen is input into the fuel cell, and the electrons of hydrogen atoms are blocked by the proton exchange membrane and conducted from the negative electrode to the positive electrode through an external circuit, thus becoming an electric energy-driven motor. Different from traditional dry batteries and storage batteries, ordinary batteries are energy storage devices, which store electric energy and release it when necessary. Strictly speaking, hydrogen fuel cell is a kind of power generation device, just like a power plant, it is an electrochemical power generation device that directly converts chemical energy into electrical energy.
2. The cruising range of fuel cell vehicles with different endurance is generally more than 400 kilometers, which is very close to that of traditional fuel vehicles. For pure electric vehicles, longer cruising range means heavier and more expensive lithium battery packs. At present, only TeslaModelS (parameter | picture) has a cruising range of more than 400 kilometers, but its price is 1 ton, which is as expensive as 200,000 RMB. In addition, deep discharge will affect the life of lithium batteries.
In other words, you can't fill up like a traditional car, so the actual cruising range is much lower than claimed. Although the current price of fuel cell vehicles is relatively high, from the perspective, the cost of fuel cell vehicles will be lower than that of pure electric vehicles with the same cruising range.
3. The starting speeds of fuel cell vehicles and pure electric vehicles are different. The main reason is that it takes time for the fuel of the fuel cell to react in the storage tank of the vehicle. Judging from the structure of the vehicle, the seating space of the fuel vehicle is not as comfortable as that of the electric vehicle. Fuel cells need a large storage tank, which will occupy a certain internal space.
