Is color cast effective for RAW?

Because RAW is a relatively complete image processing format. RAW format is the most detailed for modifying photos, so color shift must be effective for RAW.

First of all, what is the RAW format? In the era of film cameras, most of the photo output came from film. In the era of digital cameras, it is actually imitating film cameras and turning their own photosensitive films into digital photosensitive components. The original output of a digital camera is actually just an unprocessed original data packet, which is the RAW storage mode. As we all know, movies can only be booked once. The familiar JPEG image is equivalent to a fixed film, and RAW is equivalent to an exposure film in a cassette, but it is more controllable and has more room for post-processing. When it comes to RAW, we must first know what color depth is. The unit of color depth is bit, and the color depth of ordinary jpg photos is 8bit, that is to say, three colors of RGB, each with 256 levels, can produce a total of ***256*256*256, that is, about 654.38+067,700 different colors, which is the display limit of mainstream display devices at present and is quite sufficient in most cases. (It has exceeded the resolution limit of human eyes. How can it be insufficient? )

The next step is the most important link, that is, what kind of benefits RAW will bring in the post-processing process. Let's use real photos to prove that RAW format can retrieve better details even under overexposure. Use Lightroom to open RAW format and JPEG format respectively.

Adjust to the appropriate state:

It can be seen that under the same adjustment of exposure, color scale, shadow and other parameters, the appropriate state can be obtained, and the RAW format is much stronger than JPG in the preservation of dark details. This function can have more room for remedy and adjustment when we adjust underexposed photos. In addition, as can be seen from the above comparison, the influence of RAW on the adjusted image quality is far less than that of JPG.

In terms of color offset, RAW also has advantages over other formats: it truly restores color-cast photos;
