1. Are traditional culture and ancient culture the same concept? Why?
Traditional Chinese culture is the official culture that has been defined by the feudal ruling class through the ages, and it refers specifically to the official culture of feudalism, which is characterized by external Confucianism and internal law. Traditional culture, which honors Confucianism, consists of two major cultural systems, Confucianism and Legalism.
Ancient Chinese culture was born directly out of Chinese society, with Taoism and law and nature as its highest core cultural category, and because of its natural civilian nature, it can also be called the ancient Chinese people's culture (Mao Zedong's words). Ancient Chinese culture, with Taoism at its top, mainly includes nine cultural systems, including Taoism, medicine, military, Yi, Confucianism, ink, name, law and miscellaneous.
Ancient Chinese culture is symbolized by the heavenly way Qiankun culture of King Wen of the early Zhou Dynasty, and the discourse originates from the spirit of "heavenly way" which is unique to ancient China, and includes all the natural discoveries and inventions of the ancient times of China and other cultural deposits. The emergence of Zhou Yi marked the formal establishment of the culture of the ancient Chinese people.
From the time of King Wen of the Zhou Dynasty onwards, there was a difference between Jiang Shang of Qi (the Way) and Zhou Gong Dan of Lu (the Virtue), during the powerful Western Zhou period. Since the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, there is the difference between the Tao of Guan Zhong (Legalism), the Tao of Laozi (Taoism), and the Tao of Kong Qiu (Confucianism). The Eastern Zhou was characterized by five hegemons competing with each other, and there was a weak central authority (Zhou Tien Zi) that existed so that the spiritual authority of the Way of Heaven was not completely lost.
After the Warring States period, the spiritual authority of the central power no longer existed, and it entered a chaotic era in which all the sons emerged and a hundred schools of thought contended. "The sons of the law and chaos, selfishness and corrupt Confucian authoritarianism, the world and morality first", thus the ancient Chinese cultural system is formally complete. After the Han Dynasty, "the hundred schools were dismissed and Confucianism was honored", and the traditional Chinese cultural pattern of external Confucianism and internal law was established.
At the same time, the ancient Chinese culture of morality first, naturally escaped from the official vision of the feudalist regime, and entered the more far-reaching and wider people's culture at the fundamental level, and at the important juncture of Chinese history instead of the traditional Chinese culture, re-emerged on the stage of history and shone brightly, and each time achieved the greatness of the Chinese Empire in the world. Therefore, ancient Chinese culture is also called Chinese people's culture.
