My Favorite Musical Instrument--Flute

We have various kinds of musical instruments in China with a long history, such as erhu, pipa, guzheng and flute. Some have a thick sound, some have a sharp sound. Each has its own characteristics and features. Among them, the flute is y loved by me.

The flute is one of the commonly used horizontal woodwind instruments in traditional Chinese music, and there are many kinds of flutes, besides the most common bamboo flute, there are stone flute, porcelain flute and jade flute. However, the best raw material for flute making is still bamboo, because the sound effect of flute made of this material is the best. Let me introduce the flute first!

The bamboo flute is made of a bamboo tube, which is hollowed out into a bore, cylindrical, with a blowhole, a membrane hole, 6 tone holes, 2 holes for the base note and 2 holes for the auxiliary note. The body of the flute is made of a bamboo tube, which is hollowed into an inner chamber. The airflow vibrates the membrane of the flute, which produces a clear and bright sound. By opening and closing these holes separately, different sounds can be produced. The flute is good at playing beautiful lyrical melody, often in the instrumental ensemble as the leader.

It was last year when I visited the museum, I saw a beautiful Qing Dynasty dragon head flute in a sealed glass box, painted red lacquer, depicted on the golden dragon. The introduction states: dragon head flute - thick and long body, tone is simple, mellow, a sound of three rhymes, melodious and gentle, playing the tune is more beautiful, delicate, gorgeous, with a strong flavor. The tone color is moist and clear, the tone control, strength and weakness contrast freely, and more application of the flute on the "call tone", "send sound", "playing sound", "leaning sound ", "vibrato" and other techniques, in the use of breath requires full and even, as little as possible with the spit sound breaks. I remember when I was a child, I like to listen to the sound of the bamboo flute, the sound is crisp and clear, loved by people. Whenever I heard the sound of the bamboo flute, I would stop and savor it.

When I got home, I told my dad that the flute was very nice and I wanted to play it. Yes, dad first called me the basics. There are ten holes on the flute, one of which has a flute membrane glued to it, which makes beautiful music through the flute membrane's fluttering. Dad played some beautiful tunes, I was so envious that I couldn't wait to pick up the flute and play, but no matter how I played, I couldn't get any sound out of it. My father showed me how to play the flute by putting the mouthpiece of the flute to my mouth, turning it fifteen degrees and then blowing, and pressing the mouthpiece with my fingers to make the sound. I listened carefully and thought to myself, "There is so much to learn about playing the flute! After listening to my father's teaching, I got the hang of it. I calmly picked up the flute, smoothly put it to my mouth and blew vigorously, ha, finally blew out the sound! I was overjoyed and jumped for joy.

Today, I not only learned the characteristics of the bamboo flute, tone, but also learned the trick to play the flute. It's really an eye-opening and two birds with one stone!
