The introduction of out-of-print oil overprint woodcut prints
Out-of-print oil on canvas woodcut is one kind of oil on canvas woodcut, which is a new technique of printmaking that appeared in Simao area of Yunnan Province of China in the 1980s, and it breaks through the production procedures and aesthetic concepts of the traditional on canvas woodcut creation. It is to concentrate all the color plates of a painting on one plate, and use the creation method of decreasing the number of plates while engraving and printing to complete the work, so it can also be called the "Reduction of Plate Method". Because the process of engraving and printing prints with this method is the process of natural destruction of the plate, can not be reversed, after the completion of the work, the original plate has not been able to print out the work, and therefore is usually called out of print oil printing overprinting woodblock prints, as opposed to the traditional overprinting method of the plate.
