Classification of breakfast

European and American breakfasts are divided into continental breakfasts, English and Irish breakfasts and American breakfasts according to food content. This concept comes from Britain, which is what the British refer to as continental breakfast in English context. But in fact, there are many kinds of breakfasts in European countries, so the concept of continental breakfast cannot cover all breakfasts in continental Europe.

The definition of "continental breakfast" has gradually evolved into "simple breakfast" over time. Therefore, in the western restaurants of many star-rated hotels, the concept of "continental breakfast" in the menu refers to a simple breakfast that only provides coffee, tea, milk, butter, jam, bread and juice. This breakfast does not serve cereals, meat, sausages and eggs. In star-rated hotels, American breakfast is defined as "composite breakfast" and "full breakfast". English and Irish breakfasts are only popular in England, Ireland and Wales because they have special food contents.

Because cereal porridge (cooked or soaked in milk or white water) is highly regarded as healthy food, cereal porridge is also widely eaten in breakfast in European countries.

In star-rated hotels, continental breakfast foods include: coffee or tea, butter, jam, bread and juice. Bread foods generally include Belgian waffles, Danish sweet bread, French croissants, English buns, German salty bread and sliced bread.

The United States is an immigrant country, so American breakfast is called "composite breakfast" and "full breakfast" because it brings together the essence of breakfast in European countries.

In addition to the same items as continental breakfast, such as coffee or tea, butter, jam, bread and juice, American breakfast also includes boiled soybeans in Anglo-Irish breakfast, sausages, cereals, cereals, eggs, meat and other foods in German breakfast.
