What happened in the history of Tang Dynasty poets Meng Haoran and Li Bai?

Meng Haoran, a poet in the Tang Dynasty, was born in Mengshan, Xiangyang, Xiangzhou (now Xiangyang, Hubei) and is known as Meng Xiangyang in the world. Because he has never been an official, he is also known as Monsanto, and he is a famous pastoral poet in the Tang Dynasty.

Meng Haoran was born in 689 AD (the first year of Yongchang in Wuhou). Born in a thin and constant scholarly family in Xiangyang City, he studied hard since childhood. When I was young, I lived in seclusion and studied in Lumen Mountain. Between the ages of 25 and 35, in order to enter the business, leave their families, travel far, roam the Yangtze River valley, make friends, and pay homage to public officials and celebrities. In the twelfth year of Kaiyuan, because Xuanzong was in Luoyang, he went to Luoyang for an official and stayed in Luoyang for three years, but found nothing. Traveling to Chang 'an at the age of 40 should be promoted by Jinshi. He once wrote a poem named Gong Qing in imperial academy, and he wrote for it. He has a close friendship with Wang Wei. Legend has it that Wang Wei once invited himself into the office, just as Xuanzong arrived, Haoran fled to the bed. Wang Wei didn't dare to hide it. According to the facts, Xuanzong was ordered to see it. Haoran recited his poems to a wise ruler "exiled because of my fault", but Xuanzong was not happy. He said, "You don't want to be an official, and I have never abandoned you. Why do you falsely accuse me?" ! Put it back in Xiangyang. After roaming in wuyue, I was extremely poor. In the twenty-second year of Kaiyuan, Han Chaozong was the secretariat of Xiangzhou, and he was very appreciative of Meng Haoran, so he invited him to dinner and recommended it to the court. Meng Haoran missed the appointment with Han Chaozong because he was drinking with friends. In the 25th year of Kaiyuan, Zhang Jiuling became the long history of Jingzhou, which led to the shogunate. Before long, he returned to his former residence. In 740 AD (the 28th year of Kaiyuan), Wang Changling was demoted to Xiangyang to visit Meng Haoran. They met happily. Meng Haoran has a poisonous sore on his back. He will be fine. He died because he indulged in feasting and eating fresh food.

The above is a brief introduction to Meng Haoran, a poet in the Tang Dynasty. Next, let's talk about the story of Meng Haoran and Li Bai.

Li Bai wrote two very famous poems to Meng Haoran. One is "Yellow Crane Tower Farewell to Meng Haoran on the way to Yangzhou": an old friend said goodbye to the West Yellow Crane Tower, and fireworks went down to Yangzhou in March. My friend's sail shadow faded away and disappeared at the end of the blue sky, only seeing the first line of the Yangtze River and heading for the distant horizon.

In the 13th year of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty (AD 725), Li Bai sailed down the Yangtze River from Sichuan and visited many places all the way. In Xiangyang (now Xiangfan, Hubei), I heard that Meng Haoran, a poet of the former dynasty, was in the south of the city and went to visit him specially. Meng Haoran read Li Bai's poems and praised them greatly. They soon became close friends. Meng Haoran warmly hosted Li Bai and stayed with him for more than 10 days.

In the spring of 730 AD, Li Bai learned that Meng Haoran was going to Guangling (now Yangzhou, Jiangsu), so he sent a letter to meet Meng Haoran in Jiangxia (now Wuchang, Wuhan). On this day, they met at the Yellow Crane Tower in Jiangxia, had a good talk and expressed their opinions. A few days later, Meng Haoran took a boat to the east, and Li Bai personally sent it to the river. When the ship left, Li Bai stood on the riverbank, watching the lonely sail drifting away, and his feelings of melancholy came to life, so he waved the song "Yellow Crane Tower, Don't be Meng Haoran on the way to Yangzhou". The poet pinned his feelings of parting on the blue sky and rivers. Although his words are endless, they are unforgettable and can be called farewell masterpieces.

One is a message for Meng Haoran. Ten years later, in the spring of the 28th year of Kaiyuan, in 740 AD, Li Bai and Meng Haoran met for the second time. This time, Li Bai wrote a letter to Meng Haoran to express his admiration for this friend. Master, I cheer you from the bottom of my heart. Your fame has risen to the sky. In the rosy youth, you gave up the importance of hats and chariots and chose pine trees and clouds; Now whitehead. Drunk moon, sage of dreams, bewitched by flowers, you turned a deaf ear to the emperor. Gaoshan, how I long to reach you, this episode is pure fragrance! Few people can get such love from Li Bai. Shortly thereafter, Meng Haoran died of an old illness. This poem became the eternal swan song written by Li Bai to Meng Haoran.

However, after searching all Meng Haoran's poems, I couldn't find a poem that Meng Haoran returned to Li Bai. I can't help feeling sorry. Meng Haoran only wrote poems to contemporary poets such as Wang Wei, Zhang Jiuling and Zhang Zirong. The reason, I guess, is that Li Bai and Meng Haoran are both Brewmaster, and they may get to know each other happily. Meng Haoran and Wang Changling fell ill as soon as they met. They were very happy to meet, had a good time and ate fresh food. I lost my life because of drinking, so it is understandable that I can't write after drinking too much.
