The Historical Origin of Dupont Model

Donaldson Brown, the inventor of F DuPont model, is an electrical engineer. 19 14 joined the finance department of chemical giant DuPont. Shortly thereafter, DuPont bought a 23% stake in General Motors. In this transaction, Brown's task is to restructure the complex finance of General Motors, which may be the first large-scale enterprise restructuring in American history. According to Alfred Sloan, former chairman of General Motors, the reputation of General Motors has greatly increased since the launch of Brown's planning and relationship system. Then, major companies in the United States have successfully applied this method, thus making the DuPont model famous. Until 1970' s, DuPont model has always maintained a dominant position in the field of financial analysis.
