Which nationality's traditional festival is Dragon Boat Festival?

Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional Miao festival. The Dragon Boat Festival of Miao nationality has its special origin. According to legend, in the area around Doushui River, there is a fierce big black dragon, which harms the people and does many evils. People hate it very much and try their best to get rid of it. There lived a fisherman by the river. The old fisherman and his son live together, fishing and hunting for a living.

One year in the fifth lunar month, the young man was robbed by the black dragon while fishing. When the old fisherman heard the news, he was very sad and determined to get rid of the evil devil and save his son. So, he resolutely took a steel knife and fire, went deep into Longdong to fight the black dragon to the death, fought for nine days and nights, cut the black dragon into three sections, rescued his son, and burned Longdong to prevent future troubles. Unexpectedly, smoke billowed on the steep river, and the dragon body went down the river, making the river bank dark. Fortunately, a Miao girl went to fetch water by the river and accidentally dropped the wooden spoon. She looked for a wooden spoon with a pole. As soon as the pole touched the wooden spoon, it suddenly crashed, the sky suddenly became clear, the darkness gradually disappeared, and the earth regained its light.

In order to commemorate the old fisherman's righteous act of eliminating evil and promoting good and the Miao girl's merit of driving away darkness, the Miao people regard May 24-27 as a traditional festival to row dragon boats on the steep river every year.
