Ancient textile tools

The ancient textile tools include spinning wheel, primitive waist machine, loom, diagonal loom and spinning wheel.

1, spinning wheel. The spinning wheel is mainly made of pottery and stone. It is round cake with a diameter of about 5 cm and a thickness of 1 cm. Also known as "special spinning wheel" and "special disc", there is a hole in the middle for inserting rods. When spinning, a piece of hemp or other fiber to be spun is wound on a special rod, then hung down, one hand holds the rod, and the other hand turns the disc to the left or right, and the fiber is continuously added to promote fiber drafting and drafting.

2, the original waist machine. The primitive waist machine is one of the oldest and simplest looms in the world, which appeared as early as the middle and late Neolithic Age. During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, isosceles parts such as beating-up knives, warp splitting sticks and healds were unearthed in Hemudu site in Zhejiang, Liangzhu cultural site and Guixi tomb in Jiangxi.

3. loom. Loom is a machine that weaves two or more groups of yarns into fabric at right angles, which can be divided into loom and brocade machine. Brocade machines are divided into Zhuang bamboo cage machine, Yao brocade machine, Miao brocade machine, Maonan bamboo cage machine and Dong brocade machine.

4. Oblique loom. The Han Dynasty stone reliefs unearthed in Cao Zhuang, Sihong, Jiangsu Province are engraved with "mother-in-law's picture", which shows the types of pedal heald looms. This skew-promoting loom already has a frame, and the warp surface and the horizontal frame form an inclination angle of 50-60 degrees.

5. spinning wheel. Spinning wheel is a process production line or yarn equipment which is made of wool, cotton, hemp, silk and other fiber materials, driven by manual machinery and extended by rotary spinning. A spinning wheel usually has a wheel driven by hands or feet and a spindle.
