Knowledge of the Chinese solar terms

The twenty-four solar terms belong to the traditional Chinese culture with national characteristics and profoundness.

1, national characteristics, China's traditional culture is unique to China, different from other national cultures in the world.

2, broad and profound, "broad" means the breadth of Chinese traditional culture, "profound" means the depth of Chinese traditional culture.

The twenty-four solar terms are a kind of supplemental calendar used to guide farming in ancient China, which was formed during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods. Because the Chinese calendar is a "yin and yang calendar", i.e., based on the operation of the sun and the moon, it does not fully reflect the solar cycle, but China is an agricultural society, agriculture needs to be strictly aware of the operation of the sun, and farming is conducted entirely according to the sun.

So the "24 Solar Terms", which reflect the solar cycle alone, were added to the calendar and used as a criterion for determining leap months. The 24 solar terms reflect the changes of the seasons, guide agricultural activities, and affect the food, clothing, and housing of thousands of families. The 24 solar terms are divided according to the position of the sun on the ecliptic (i.e., the orbit of the Earth around the sun).
