Now Okinawans speak Japanese or native language and what scripts are used
After Japan's annexation of the Ryukyus, imperialization was so successful that most young Okinawans nowadays don't speak Ryukyu and speak Japanese instead. The script is of course Japanese, with kanji and kana. The Ryukyus are a pathetic people, who were killed by Japan in the 19th century, and then had to suffer the bullying of American soldiers in the 20th century.
