The Background of Blue and White Porcelain in Longquan Kiln
The most important thing is that people's aesthetic orientation has changed from monochromatic glaze to blue-and-white glaze and multicolored glaze, which also makes the varieties of monochromatic glaze, such as Longquan celadon, Yue kiln celadon, northern black porcelain, white porcelain and carved porcelain, which have been popular for more than 1000 years, gradually decline, and many monochromatic glazed porcelain kilns either stop burning or switch to blue-and-white porcelain. Because of the popularity of blue-and-white porcelain and the influence of market factors, in order to pursue market sales, some kilns had to consider the possibility of switching to blue-and-white porcelain, and blue-and-white porcelain began to appear at the end of Yuan Dynasty. After the Ming Dynasty, blue and white flowers mushroomed in various kilns, and the basic order from morning till night was: Yunnan Yuxi, Jianshui Blue and White Flowers, Zhejiang Hongshan, Jinghe, Yunhe and Xiangshan Blue and White Flowers, Jiangxi Leping, Ji 'an and Chaozhou Blue and White Flowers, Fujian Chong 'an, Minjiang, Jinjiang and Jiulong Blue and White Flowers.
In addition, there are blue and white porcelain in Tai Po, Jieyang, Boluo and Chengmai in Guangdong, and blue and white porcelain has been fired in Yiyang, Huili and Rongxian in Sichuan, Zibo, Jiaozuo in Henan and Tangshan in Hebei. In fact, some kilns are mainly monochrome glazed porcelain, and some are imitation blue and white, such as Dehua blue and white. In fact, judging from the handed down specimens, the firing of blue and white porcelain after the Qing Dynasty is far more than these areas and kiln mouths.
