The Hometown of Printmaking-xingning city

Xingning city is located in the northeast of Guangdong Province, bordering the upper reaches of Dongjiang River and Hanjiang River. Founded in the sixth year of Xianhe in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (33 1). It was called Jichang in the Song Dynasty. Known as the treasure land of eastern Guangdong and the hometown of culture. It is located in Lianhua Mountain, with beautiful scenery, long history and rich culture.

Xingning plays an important role in the new painting movement in China. 193 1 In August, Mr. Lu Xun held the first woodcut workshop in the history of China fine arts. Among the early woodcut artists in China 13, there are five people from Xingning, namely Zhong, Deng, Huang, Chen Tiegeng and Chen Zhuokun. In addition, Luo Qingzhen, Zhang Hui, Luo Yingqiu, Huang Yan, Wang Li, Zhang Yunhui and others are all famous woodcuts in the early stage of the emerging printmaking movement. Xingning is therefore known as the "hometown of printmaking". 1980, Mr. Luo Yingqiu, an old-school painter, founded the first printmaking organization "Qingzhen Printmaking Club" in xingning city, propose to create. 1986 In the 11th China Exchange Art Exhibition held in Yokohama, Japan, 20 of the 52 works exhibited by China came from the members of Qingzhen Printmaking in Xingning. 199 1 Mr. Luo Yingqiu, President of Qingzhen Printmaking Association, and Mr. Wang Li, Consultant of Qingzhen Printmaking Association, won the China Emerging Printmaking Contribution Award.

Xingning printmaking is a popular art that combines printmaking art, Hakka traditional art and the requirements of the times. The high-level printmaking works created by several generations of painters are not only the treasures of Guangdong painting circles, but also the treasures of China painting circles, which not only give people artistic enjoyment, but also give people profound enlightenment and have high artistic value.

Old man Liu Kewei said that printmaking is different from other paintings. It is the original work made by the painter himself, and it is relatively difficult to draw, engrave and print it. To create a print work, the first step is to select the board to be carved, then draw a detailed woodcut draft of the theme to be expressed, copy the draft to the prepared board, fill in the ink draft, dry it and carve it with a knife. After engraving, wipe the ink evenly and forcefully on the back of the paper until the painting is full, that is, wipe it out and dry it in the shade to become a print. Therefore, printmaking pays special attention to "three flavors", namely "wood flavor", "knife flavor" and "carving flavor".

However, with the improvement of printing technology, Xingning prints are dying day by day, especially in recent years, the printmaking team has gradually shrunk, and there is a lack of development potential. In order to inherit this precious folk art form, xingning city has taken supporting measures to support the development of printmaking team. Up to now, xingning city Qingzhen Printmaking Association has more than 100 members. In recent years, more than 3,000 prints have been created, and the upsurge of prints has gradually arisen in Xingning.

20 1 1 June, Xingning Printmaking Art Exhibition was held in Zhuhai Guyuan Art Museum. This exhibition shows more than 100 works by famous printmakers Luo Yingqiu and Zhang Yunhui in Xingning 18 authors. They have a wide range of themes, rich connotations, different styles, distinctive Hakka characteristics and won numerous praises.

Liu Lina, director of xingning city Cultural Center, told the reporter that according to the conservation plan, xingning city printmaking exhibition will be held in xingning city and Meizhou this year. In the next few years, Qingzhen printmaking exhibition and Chaoshan printmaking exhibition will be held, and printmaking training courses and printmaking works will be published. Through these measures, Xingning prints, an intangible cultural heritage, will be protected and passed down, and Xingning prints will strive to create more brilliance.
