Definition and form of static stretching

Static stretching is a continuous stretching method, stretching muscles to the extreme and keeping them still 15 seconds to 2 minutes. Because static stretching is simple and easy, it will not cause stretching reflection. As long as the strength is appropriate, the probability of muscle injury is very low. Therefore, static stretching is the first choice to improve flexibility.

The main forms of stretching are active stretching and passive stretching.

Active stretching: refers to a form of stretching that exerts pressure on muscles;

Passive stretching: refers to a form of stretching assisted by peers.

Advantages and precautions of static stretching

Advantages of static stretching:

1, maintain normal muscle function and relieve the pain caused by muscle tension;

2. Maintain or increase the range of joint motion and correct body posture;

3. Overcome muscle spasm, accelerate the recovery of muscle injury and reduce the formation of scar tissue;

4. Have a positive psychological impact, help to relax, maintain a positive attitude and improve comfort.

Precautions:

1. Apply proper force during stretching, step by step, and don't overstretch to avoid pulling muscles;

2. If the exercise process involves strength and explosive training, it is suggested that the static stretching before training should not be too long in order not to affect the sports performance;

3. If the stretching part is damaged or infected, it is not suitable for stretching.
