Elementary School Art Curriculum Content

The content of the elementary art curriculum consists of the following parts: introduction, curriculum objectives, content standards, and implementation suggestions. They explain the background of the art curriculum reform, the nature of the curriculum, the basic philosophy of the curriculum and the design of the curriculum standards; the general objectives and stages of the curriculum; content description and content standards; teaching recommendations, evaluation recommendations, the development and utilization of curriculum resources, and teaching materials development recommendations.

The elementary school art curriculum is divided into four areas of study according to the way of art learning:

①"Modeling-expression" area of study

It includes all art activities related to visual modeling, such as all types of paintings, sculpture, parts of crafts, handicraft activities, folk art labor, and so on. craft activities, labor activities in folk art, and so on. It covers the basic modeling elements of fine arts (line, form, space, light and dark, texture, texture, color, composition, etc.).

This area covers the fundamentals of modern design and traditional arts and crafts. Modern design fundamentals mainly include plane composition, three-dimensional composition, color composition, industrial design, visual communication design, clothing design, environmental art design, and computer art design. Traditional arts and crafts mainly include basic patterns, metal crafts, bamboo and wood crafts, knitting and weaving crafts, fiber crafts, paper crafts, clay sculpture and ceramics, as well as various folk art crafts.

3) "Appreciation-Commentary" Learning Area

It consists of appreciation, identification, and commentary (art review/art criticism).

4. "Synthesis-Exploration" Learning Area

It consists of art learning areas that guide students to actively explore, research, create, and synthesize problem solving through comprehensive art activities.

There are three levels: the integration of art learning areas; the integration of art and other subjects; and the connection between art and the real world.

The three levels intersect and overlap to varying degrees.

By form of expression, including painting, calligraphy, photography, sculpture, clay modeling, video, paper-cutting, design, seal cutting and so on.

By the source of the works, it is divided into classical art and popular art.
