Sanxian Modern Sanxian

Sanxian is a traditional plucked instrument in China. There are three strings named after Zhang. Influenced by different regions, nationalities and cultural customs, Sanxian has always had a variety of shapes, which can be roughly divided into two types: large and small. After 1950s, some musical instrument reformers and three-stringed players improved the two kinds of three-stringed instruments and achieved great success.

Modern Sanxian is improved on the basis of traditional Sanxian. The Big Three Immortals are divided into 60 types and 80 types, which were successfully developed in 1960 and 1980 respectively, hence the name. These two three-stringed instruments were designed by Mr Xiao Jiansheng of China Conservatory of Music and made by Master Song Guangning of Beijing National Musical Instrument Factory. They are 60-type stringed instruments with a total length of 1 16.8 cm, a drum length of 23.8cm, a width of 2 1.5 cm and a thickness of 9cm;; . Type 80 big three-string, length 1 17.8cm, length 26.5cm, width 23.2cm and thickness 9.8cm.. Compared with the traditional three-string drum, the improved two kinds of three-string drums have enlarged sound cavity, thinner frame edge, oval inner wall and echo groove, which sounds pure and vigorous. Shorten the piano rod properly to facilitate the left hand to press the strings. The mountain pass moves down. The lower end of the fingerboard is flush with the drum surface of the piano, which expands the range of the high-pitched area. The hollow stem is connected with the drum cavity to enhance the * * * sound. When playing, the copper arc bracket is placed on the left side of the drum, which reduces the burden of holding the piano rod with both hands and creates conditions for fully expressing the content of the music and exerting the playing skills.
