Why foreigners are obsessed with Chinese opera

Until you have a certain understanding of something and then love it from the bottom of your heart, you will never be obsessed with it.

Given that Chinese culture and language, aesthetics and morality ...... are not yet mainstream in the world, most foreigners do not have in-depth contact with Chinese people and Chinese culture and art, and China is strange and full of mystery in their hearts and eyes.

Even foreign students, tourists and tourists who come to China for various purposes and foreigners who study China abroad may not be able to reach the point where they can relate to the Chinese people.

So, foreigners like to see Chinese opera and song and ancient color opera and martial arts ...... I'm afraid it's still more of a novelty and curiosity. This and they look at the Japanese Noh and Kabuki, we look at the African indigenous dance, the heart of the feeling should not be very different. Obsessed of course, there are also, there are clear singing and color singing, and even a Japanese has reached the level that can be enrolled in the Chinese Academy of Opera after graduation to the Beijing Opera House to engage in professional performances. However, the individual phenomenon does not represent the whole group of foreigners. Foreigners who claim to be obsessed with Peking Opera are probably just being polite, like an Italian who asks us if we like opera, and out of politeness we don't categorically deny it even if we don't like it at all, but rather say vaguely that it's very valuable and best represents Italy.

The popularity of Chinese arts, including opera, in the world is so much worse than the popularity of Western opera, dance and ballet ...... in the world and in China. When foreign professional opera schools can be the same size and number as China's professional Western voice and dance schools, or when the number of foreign students coming to China to study opera skyrockets, only then can we say that foreigners are obsessed with Chinese opera.
