What are the masters of the underworld, the King of Earth and the King of Hell in charge of and what are their rights in ancient myths and legends?

The Lord of the Underworld - the King of the Earth Bodhisattva, in charge of the hell, the name of the Lotus, Shakyamuni Buddha's disciples, very filial piety, his mother Liu's life vegetarian, but was abetted by friends and relatives do not have to eat long vegetarian, you can eat meat, his mother can not help the desire of the mouth and stomach, and finally broke the precepts. After her death, because she had broken the precepts of eating meat and killing, she fell into the hell of the hungry ghosts. Seeing his mother's suffering, Meguren said with great sadness, "If I don't go to hell, who will go to hell? He went down to hell three times to save his mother. Later, because of his filial piety, the Buddha took pity on him and taught him the method of Bon to relieve his mother of her suffering. Nowadays, the Obon Festival is held on the 15th day of the 7th month of the lunar calendar, and it is the day when Meiren saves his mother. Afterwards, because he felt that his mother had suffered in hell, as all people in the world suffer, he made a great wish to save all the people in the world.

Jizangwangbodhisattva's power, power and vows are unbelievable. He uses his mighty spirit to subdue all sentient beings who are y sinful. His vows are, "If the hells are not emptied, one will not become a Buddha; if all sentient beings are eliminated, one will not be able to realize bodhicitta." He vowed that he would not become a Buddha until the hells were empty, and that he would not become a Buddha until he had finished with all sentient beings. If there is a single sentient being that he has not finished, he will not attain Buddhahood. That is why he has not attained Buddhahood after such a long period of time. That's why he hasn't attained Buddhahood after such a long period of time. Because after this sentient being is finished, that one comes again, and it's never finished. Either this sentient being is born, or that one passes away; that one passes away, and this one is born again. There are always ten, a hundred, a thousand, or ten thousand times more sentient beings that come into existence than those that pass away.

Because it takes decades for people to die, those who are born wait only for the tenth month of pregnancy to be born, which is very fast. So the birth exceeds the death by tens of millions of times, thus exhausting the Earth Store King Bodhisattva who cannot become a Buddha even now. But do you think he regrets it? He doesn't regret. The more sentient beings there are, the more work he has to do; if there were no sentient beings, he would have no work, and he would become a Buddha. When he became a Buddha, he didn't have anything to do, so Earth Store King Bodhisattva was looking for something to do because he didn't have anything to do. Originally, he was very free, but he was willing to be busy all day long, always going to fulfill sentient beings, this is the wish of the Earth Store King Bodhisattva.

Why does the Earth Store King Bodhisattva have this kind of wish? Because he felt that he and all living beings were one, and that if all living beings did not attain Buddhahood, there was no point in his attaining Buddhahood; so he waited here for all living beings, and had this karmic relationship with all living beings that would always and forever be the same. There is no way to measure or understand this kind of aspiration of Earth Store King Bodhisattva. What I am saying now is only a small part of it; in fact, this kind of wishing power of his is not to be thought about or spoken about.

On the 15th day of the seventh month of the lunar calendar, the Yu Lan Festival, folk filial piety also follow the example of the Buddha to teach the Buddha as a grand puja, for the parents and ancestors devoutly recite the scriptures to promote the elevation, in order to fulfill the filial duty. Confucius said in the Classic of Filial Piety: "Filial piety begins with serving one's parents, ends with serving one's ruler, and ends with establishing one's own self". In addition to serving one's parents, filial piety is also about accomplishing one's own higher level of moral cultivation, correcting one's speech and behavior, and perfecting oneself. To become an immortal and a Buddha, one must first become an adult, establish one's body and practice the Way, make one's parents known, and honor one's ancestors, which is what the Confucian Analects of Filial Piety says: "To establish one's body and practice the Way, and make one's name known to the generations to come to show one's parents, this is the final stage of filial piety. This is the holy filial piety, that is, the cultivation of Buddhism, on the level of filial piety, the holy filial piety is the true and complete filial piety, is the complete filial piety.

The Bodhisattvas of the Earth said, "Cultivate the truth and practice the Way, accumulate good deeds and virtues, the ancestor's good deeds can bless his children and grandchildren, and the offspring's practice of the Way can surpass the ancestor's. One son enters the Way, the nine clans are in the same position. A son into the door of Taoism, all nine families are happy, a son to achieve Taoism, nine families super rise."

Poem of Earth Store Bodhisattva:

Long trapped in the Yellow Springs, the suffering is unbearable, and the darkness of the ten ghosts and nine underworlds sinks

The wind and the night rain are very bleak, and the fog locks up the smoke and the autumn and the compassion is deep

Woeful sins are heavy, who seeks to solve them? Miserable, the grievances are many, and they are sought out by oneself

Zixia Shi Ze converts to the Taoist Buddha, and his grace is widely spread to the darkness of the netherworld

Worldlings should take the filial piety of Earth Store Bodhisattva as an example, which is originated in the Earth Store Bodhisattva. Yu Lan Festival is approaching, but filial sons and daughters should not be wine and meat offerings, so as not to increase the sins of ancestors, only the gold and silver clothes and paper and clothes of meditative acid cremation to the ancestors, the rest do not have to. If you do not fast should be fasting for ancestors throughout the month of July, to show filial piety.

Legend:

The landlord's right of Jiuhua Mountain, is the local tycoon Min Ge old man all. When the temple was built, Min Ge Lao was asked to send land, Min's personality is kind and charitable, and Jizang bhikkhu, very faith and respect, asked how much land? Jizo replied, 'I would like to have one surplice of land, which is sufficient. Min Lao thought that one surplice of land would be enough. So he generously agreed. But Jizang Bhikkhu, leaving aside his surplice, covered all the peaks of Jiuhua Mountain. Seeing that Jizang Bhikkhu had such power, Min was pleasantly surprised, and he gave away all the land in Jiuhua Mountain, vowing to protect the Dharma for Jizang Bhikkhu, and ordering his son to follow Jizang Bodhisattva to become a Buddhist monk. After the Silla country many people come close to learn the way, the road food is not enough, cooking rice often ooze mixed with Guanyin soil (fine white as powder of clay), visible at that time the temple congregation, life is hard, the king of the Silla, heard that Jizang Bhikkhu, led the people in the Jiuhua mountain training, when sent to send people to send food to feed.

This is how the present Pantheon (Buddha) religion came into being!

Hidden Bodhisattva, or Earth Store Bodhisattva, was once transliterated as "Beggar's footsteps". The name "Earth Store" was given to him because he is "as tolerant and immovable as the earth, and his meditation is as profound as a secret stash". He is one of the Four Great Bodhisattvas of Buddhism, along with Guanyin, Manjushri, and Puxian, and is highly revered by the world. With its "long time ago, repeated wishes", so it is honored as the great wishes of Jizo King Bodhisattva

Jizo Bodhisattva, also known as Jizo King Bodhisattva, Sanskrit name Ksitigarbha, the Chinese translation of Ksitigarbha Hapa, one of the eight great Bodhisattvas. According to the "Ten Wheels of Earth Store Sutra," said, its way in Anhui Province, Chizhou City, Jiuhua Mountain, with the Zhejiang Putuo Mountain, Shanxi Wutai Mountain, Sichuan Emei Mountain and known as the four great mountains of Buddhism in China. He once said, "If hell is not empty, I will not become a Buddha!" The firm Buddhist words.

According to the Earth Store Bodhisattva Sutra, there was a woman of the Brahmin caste in the infinite number of kalpas in the past, "whose mother believed in evil and always belittled the Three Jewels," and she did not

long live, and her soul and spirit fell into the infernal hell. The Brahmin woman knew that her mother had not accumulated good karma during her life, and that she would surely fall into an evil world after death, so she sold her house and made offerings to the Buddhist temple. After being instructed by the Buddha, she came to hell with the power of chanting the Buddha's name, saw the King of Ghosts, who was not poisonous, and learned that because of her own merit of making offerings to the Buddha, the temple, and chanting the Buddha's name, she was able to free herself from the sufferings of the hells, as well as other hellish sins and ascended to heaven. The Brahmin woman made a great vow in front of the statue of the King of the Buddha, the King of the Buddha, that, "I wish to set up a wide range of facilities to free myself from the sufferings of all the sins and sufferings of all sentient beings in all the future epochs. I wish to make all sentient beings who suffer from sinfulness and misery free from them through all the conveniences of the coming ages." Shakyamuni Buddha told Manjushri Bodhisattva that the Brahmin woman at that time was the current Earth Store Bodhisattva. In the sutra, Shakyamuni Buddha tells us about the incredible aspirations of Jizo Bodhisattva. Jizo Bodhisattva always vows that he will not become a Buddha until the hells are empty. By reciting his name and worshipping his statue, all beings will be able to obtain immeasurable merit and salvation. The scripture also describes how Jizo Bodhisattva was entrusted by Shakyamuni Buddha to stay in the world after the demise of Shakyamuni Buddha and before the birth of Maitreya Buddha in the Buddha-less world, to educate and liberate beings from the six paths of the hells, hungry ghosts, animals, asuras, humans, and the heavens.

Yanluo King is the lord of the underworld in folklore, in charge of human life and death and reincarnation. In ancient Chinese folk beliefs, people have to report to the underworld after death to be judged by the King of Hell.

Folk beliefs

In Chinese folklore, Bao Zheng became the embodiment of justice. Some believe that he became the King of Hell after his death and continued to judge cases in the underworld. Some believe that he was "a judge on earth during the day and a judge in the underworld at night", meaning that he tried cases on earth during the day and became the King of Hell at night, deciding cases in the underworld. After the death of a person, the soul goes to the netherworld to accept the trial of Bao Zheng, if it is indeed framed, Bao Zheng will put him back to the world to live; if it is indeed guilty, it will be sent to hell to be punished.

In folklore, there are four "Four Kings of Hell": in addition to Bao Zheng, there are Han Zhenhu, Fan Zhongyan and Kou Zhun. The other says that there are three Kings of Hell: Bao Zheng, Fan Zhongyan and Kou Zhun.

Buddhist influence

The Chinese word "Yanwang" is a shortened version of the Sanskrit word Yanmiluojia, which originally means "binding", specifically meaning binding the guilty, and is also translated as "Yanluo (King)", "Yanluo (King)", "Yanluo (King)", and "Yanluo (King)". (It is also translated as "Yan Luo (King)", "Yan Mo (King)", "Diem Devil" and so on. There was no concept of Yama in ancient China, and it was only after Buddhism was introduced to China from ancient India that the belief in Yama as the main god of hell began to gain popularity in China.

In ancient Indian mythology, Yama is the god who manages the underworld, and there is already a legend about Yama in the Rig Veda, the oldest surviving collection of Indian poetry. The formation of the concept of Yama may be even earlier, the source is more than one, in fact, Yama in ancient India has many versions of different legends. When Buddhism was founded, it followed the idea of Yama as the god who governs the hells.

It is generally believed that Buddhism was introduced to China at the end of the Western Han Dynasty and gained great development during the Northern and Southern Dynasties. With the introduction of Buddhism into China, the belief in Yama also began to be widely accepted and interacted with the original superstitions and Taoist beliefs of Chinese folklore. The Chinese folk belief in ghosts and gods is reflected in the belief in the "Dongyue Daidi", a native religion of Taoism. "Dongyue Da Di" was originally the folk worship of Taishan Mountain, which was believed to be the place where the souls of the dead went to the underworld, and the god of Taishan was the king of the underworld. After the introduction of Buddhism to China, some of the gods in Buddhism were adapted by folk beliefs and then absorbed and adopted; on the other hand, Buddhism itself took the initiative to localize itself in order to adapt to the new social environment. Thus, there was only one King of Hell in Buddhism, which gradually evolved into the "Ten Temples of Yama" with Chinese colors. There is no exact evidence of the formation of the belief of "Ten Temples of Yama", but according to people's estimation, it was around the period of Song Dynasty. At this time, Yan Wang has become the "Ten Temples of Yama" in the fifth temple of Yama, and is believed to be by the Northern Song Dynasty minister Bao Zheng as.
