Introduction of Huizhou Three Carvings
Huizhou Three Carvings is a traditional carving art of the Han nationality, which refers to the traditional carving skills of the Han nationality with Huizhou style in ancient Huizhou, including wood carving, stone carving and brick carving, in the areas of one prefecture and six counties (now yi county, Shexian, Qimen, Xiuning, Taiping, Jixi and Wuyuan, Jiangxi). The three sculptures have a long history, exquisite skills, handed down from generation to generation, and complete technological process, enjoying a high reputation at home and abroad. Their exquisite carving skills and immortal artistic value fully reflect the outstanding talents and artistic creativity of the ancient Han working people. On May 20th, 2006, Huizhou Three Sculptures were approved by the State Council to be included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
