Li Yongliang, deputy director of the Industrial Development Department of the Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, said that at present, there are about 2,300 enterprises with carbon emissions exceeding 26,000 tons in the petroleum and chemical industries, and the task of carbon emission reduction is arduous.
Due to the large number of sub-sectors and high energy consumption level, the petrochemical industry is facing more emission reduction challenges. In petrochemical production, 85% of carbon emissions are caused by energy activities, and about 15% is produced by process. Tian Lei, deputy director of Economic Center of Energy Research Institute of National Development and Reform Commission, suggested that petrochemical enterprises establish a low-carbon energy supply system to reduce carbon emissions.
He said, "Low-carbon energy is an inevitable requirement for carbon neutrality at the peak of carbon dioxide emissions. On the premise of ensuring the safety of oil and gas supply, China's petrochemical enterprises should combine their own advantages, highlight the coordinated development of multi-energy, accelerate the development of clean energy represented by hydrogen energy, wind power and photovoltaic, and build a green industrial structure and a low-carbon energy supply system. "
On June 5438+1October 65438+May this year, 17 petroleum and chemical enterprises, chemical parks and China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation jointly signed and jointly issued the Declaration on Peak Carbon Dioxide Emission and Carbon Neutralization in Petroleum and Chemical Industry in China.
Clear the green and low-carbon development path of the industry. First, promote the clean and low-carbon energy structure, vigorously develop the low-carbon natural gas industry, speed up the layout of new and renewable energy sources such as hydrogen energy, wind energy, solar energy, geothermal energy and biomass energy, and realize the integrated development from traditional oil and gas energy to clean and comprehensive energy.
Second, vigorously improve energy efficiency, strengthen energy-saving management in the whole process, eliminate backward production capacity, greatly reduce the intensity of resource and energy consumption, comprehensively improve comprehensive utilization efficiency, and effectively control the total consumption of fossil energy.
The third is to improve the supply level of high-end petrochemical products, actively develop high-quality, durable and recyclable green petrochemical products, carry out ecological product design, increase the proportion of low-carbon raw materials, reduce the carbon footprint of products throughout their life cycle, and drive carbon emission reduction in upstream and downstream industrial chains.
