Performance comparison of diapers

Comparing traditional diapers and diapers alone, in terms of breathability, of course, traditional diapers are better, and much better, because it is only cloth, no water-insulating substances. But it's very unfair to use such a comparison to judge the merits of the two. Because when using traditional diapers, people usually use a layer of water-insulating stuff on the outside of the diaper: absolutely airtight plasticine. So it's only fair that I should compare the "full version" of a traditional diaper with this layer, which has no breathability at all, to a diaper. Diapers are made of non-woven fabric, lined with a material that only lets air in and out of the diaper and not water molecules, so although the breathability is not comparable to cloth, it is much better than the "full version" of a traditional diaper. However, the fairness of this comparison has been overlooked, leading to a shift in favor of traditional diapers.
