Haiyun 'an Sugar Ball Festival has a history of more than 500 years and is the largest folk temple fair in Qingdao. Qingdao Haiyun 'an Sugar Ball Club was officially awarded the title of "Top Ten Folk Festivals in China" by China Local Art Association affiliated to the Ministry of Culture, which indicates that Qingdao Haiyun 'an Sugar Ball Club has become a well-known folk culture brand in China.
