Shanxi is one of the birthplaces of China's traditional opera art, and is called "the cradle of traditional opera". In the Han Dynasty, drama appeared in Shanxi. In ceremonies, New Year's Eve and other folk festivals, it is used as a symbol or symbol of gifts, sacrifices, celebrations and decorations. It is a very representative local culture, which is accumulated by long-standing customs.
5. Wang huo
This is a long-standing custom in northern China, mainly in Shanxi. It is said that Shanxi is rich in coal resources. According to the historical inference of coal development and utilization, the modern flourishing wind can be traced back to the Han Dynasty at the earliest, and it has penetrated into customs in ancient times, thus forming the flourishing wind in northern Shaanxi.
It is held on New Year's Eve and Lantern Festival. In front of every family's yard, a tower called Wanghuo should be built with large pieces of coal to show good luck and congratulate on its prosperity all year round.
