Southwest University of Political Science and Law is located in Chongqing, a famous historical and cultural city and the only municipality directly under the central government in the central and western regions. It is the earliest institution of higher learning in politics and law established in New China, jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the Chongqing Municipal People's Government, the first batch of national outstanding legal talents education and training bases, the training institution entrusted by the China Municipal Government for overseas students' scholarships, and the Engineering University for Basic Capacity Building in Midwest universities.

School major setting:

There are 29 undergraduate majors in the school, including 10 for national first-class undergraduate majors such as law, politics and administration, journalism, administration, radio and television, ideological and political education, intellectual property, accounting, business administration, auditing and communication, and 12 for provincial (municipal) first-class undergraduate majors.
