Instrumental Music of Zhuang Music

The folk musical instruments of the Zhuang people include the rubbing strings such as the horse bone hu, the earth hu, the clear hu, the gourd hu, the seven-stringed zither, etc.; the plucking instruments include the Tianqin and the three-stringed zither, etc.; the blowing instruments include the wood-leaf whistle, the dundu wow and the bamboo flute, etc.; and the percussion instruments include the beehive drums, the copper drums, the side drums, the transverse drums, the big drums, the eight-tone drums, the eight-tone gongs, the hullers, the bianlongs, the rods and the sticks. Mostly used in opera, music, song and dance accompaniment. They have their own accompaniment programs, transitional music, special songs, and gongs and drums. In the southern dialect area, there are folk instrumental ensembles, commonly known as the eight tones, with drumming and blowing music as their main instruments. Li Zhishu, Li Chengzang, Wei Wei, Ding Chengze, Li Xuelun and other Zhuang musicians, the growing team, Manqianzi, Chen Liang, Li Yanlin and other Han musicians to contribute to the development of Zhuang music.
